TOURISM IN ELCHE - THE ALCUDIA
This site has been inhabited since the Neolithic until the end of the Visigoth era, thus the extraordinary variety and richness of materials found here. However, it owes its fame to the finding of the Lady of Elche bust in 1897, a masterpiece of Iberian art that was probably carved around the 5th century BC.
Inside the museum visitors can review items belonging to the Copper Age and the Bronze Age, important Iberian pieces such as sculpture and ceramic remains containing figurative decorations, as well as several pieces from the times of the Roman domination.
